To support this transformation, we are looking for an experienced Organizational Development Specialist to provide hands on support in advancing our people.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Lead the design of leadership and talent management programs, processes and practices required to retain, motivate and develop people critical for CNL’s organizational success
  • Partner with executives and senior leaders to understand the company’s talent and leadership related needs
  • Facilitate and drive change initiatives by working with operational leadership teams to meet organizational goals
  • Partner with other HR tem members to integrate retention, leadership and talent development solutions with other talent management practices across the company including workforce planning, learning, total rewards, engagement, and talent acquisition
  • Act as the ambassador of talent and focus efforts on the creation of opportunities to expedite the capabilities and growth of CNL’s staff
  • Continually analyze the current environment and emerging needs to provide informed recommendations on tools or process changes that will positively affect the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent
  • Deliver formal leadership and talent program content to CNL either directly or through vendors; evaluate program success in accordance with best practices and business needs
  • In consultation with HR line support functions, design and manage a portfolio of talent related areas such as engagement, performance, succession, assessment, coaching, mentoring, and other talent and career development programs
  • Provide insightful, detailed and timely reporting on program outcomes, findings and recommended strategies and tactics

Qualifications and Skills


  • Expertise in developing and delivering mid-to-senior leadership and employee development programs that align to the strategic needs of the organization
  • Proven capability to help grow leadership capacity and foster the desired organizational culture through a consultative, collaborative approach
  • A thought leader who can provide on the ground direction, and design and deliver programming in support of talent and leadership solutions
  • 5-7 years of solid professional-level organizational development experience
  • Post-secondary education in a role related field such as Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, Adult Education, Human Resources or Business
  • Experience in developing mid-to-senior leadership succession planning programming
  • Certification and demonstrated expertise in some of the following: coaching, change management, organizational development or similar would be an asset
  • Proven experience working and collaborating with senior business leaders in a consultative capacity, demonstrating strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation and data management skills (advanced Excel required)
  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously, while remaining aligned with CNL’s mission and strategies
