The Pembroke Regional Hospital has a requirement for one (1) Quality Assurance and Equipment Coordinator to work in Medical Device Reprocessing. This position is offered on a Full-time basis.
The Quality Assurance and Equipment Coordinator will practice as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the Public Hospitals Act. They will follow the Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values, and policies and procedures and provide confidential administrative support to the Medical Device Reprocessing team. The Quality Assurance and Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Operating Room (OR) equipment, day-to-day, quarterly, and annual quality assurance and safety audits. They process change initiatives, education and training for use and care of OR equipment in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee on Infection Prevention and Control (PIDAC) in the MDR and any other quality opportunities related to the MDR/OR as assigned by the manager.
  • Minimum three year diploma in healthcare related field from a College
  • Membership with MDRAO would be an asset
  • Minimum three years experience in healthcare or related field
  • Minimum one year of experience with MDR operations and in an OR setting
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills
  • Demonstrated effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Experience with managing workflow
  • Effective team building and coaching skills
  • Ability to exercise judgement in a complex environment
  • Experience in utilization outcome measurements and quality improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with unions
  • Comprehensive computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, Outlook and patient information system
  • Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the hospital
