Job Overview
Ottawa River Power Corporation (ORPC) is a locally owned local distribution company that delivers reliable electricity safely to the City of Pembroke, the Township of Whitewater (Beachburg), the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty & Richards (Killaloe) and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills (Almonte).

Ottawa River Power is regulated by the Ontario Energy Board and as such has numerous codes and regulations by which it operates. The ability to comprehend and implement these is imperative.

ORPC is currently looking for a keen individual with initiative to fill the role of Accountant/Regulatory Specialist for its office situated in downtown Pembroke.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • General ledger work
  • Monthly financial statements
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Account balancing and analysis
  • Accounts payable coding and authorization
  • Project and job cost reporting
  • Inventory reporting
  • Backup payroll function
  • Assist other staff with accounting functions
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or Business Administration diploma
  • At least two years of senior accounting experience
  • Advanced use of Excel, Word, Presentation
  • Sage 300 experience would be an asset
  • Ability to learn other computer programs with ease
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Great customer service skills
