Duties:
-Provides administrative support to the Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President of Clinical Services
-Supports the credentialing and privileging of medical staff including appointment and re-appointment processes in conjunction with the emergency department scheduling
-Adheres to all policies and procedures
-Supports and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Deep River and District Hospital
-Other duties may be assigned and may not be limited to the scope of an individual department

Qualifications:
-Diploma in Office/Business Administration or equivalent required
-Three years of experience in Administrative Assistant role preferred
-Experience in Healthcare preferred
-Experience with Quality Management systems, procedures and practices preferred
-Experience with Ministry of Health billing preferred
-Ability to act with tact and diplomacy required
-Ability to prepare correspondence and reports, as well as, sort, review and file various documents required
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced changing environment required
-Excellent customer and quality service orientation required
-Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects effectively under minimal supervision required
-Demonstrates professional demeanor, flexibility and adaptability required
-Excellent verbal, written, facilitative and computer skills required
-Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize a constantly changing workload required
-Demonstrates initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail required
-Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, email, desktop publishing and graphic software packages required
-Solid commitment to maintaining a confidential environment required
-Strong organizational and communication and interpersonal skills required
-Understanding of medical terminology preferred
-Exceptional Attendance required
-Must agree to adhere to DRDH standards of behaviour
