Description:
The Renfrew County District School Board requires an Assistant Manager of Finance – Benefits and Payroll. This position will begin January 2018.

Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the successful candidate will work in a team environment to provide leadership and direction to the Benefits & Payroll department of the Board. In addition, this position plays a key role in benefit/compensation administration, negotiations and budget support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Human Resources Department to establish and maintain effective employee benefits programs.
  • Developing, monitoring and analyzing salary & benefit budgets for annual budgeting and labour negotiations.
  • Preparing and analyzing various board financial and other reports for key Ministry financial reports including the Estimates, Revised Estimates, and Financial Statements.
  • Recruit, develop and motivate employees, delegate responsibility effectively and evaluate performance.
  • Participating in various committees and meetings.
Qualifications
  • A professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CGA, CMA)
  • Payroll and/or Benefit certification are assets
  • Three to five years of related experience in progressively responsible positions
  • Supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring & team building skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency with financial, spreadsheet and other software applications required
Additional Information
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, current pay band of $74,180 to $88,603 per year.
