We are currently seeking a CI Project Specialist to join our team at the production unit in Arnprior, Ontario. The CI Project Specialist will be responsible for identifying improvement opportunities within production and initiate good project management practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in line with company strategy
  • Initiate and control CI projects in accordance with established project management practices
  • Ensure a full understanding of project management and CI tools for all that participate in related activities
  • Follow up on projects to ensure their sustainability and that they have met expectations
  • Develop contingency plans for project implementation
  • Budget control and cost reduction
  • Maintain close collaboration with the EHS, quality and maintenance department as well as outside resources
  • Maintain a positive relationship with trade union representatives
  • Promote lean principles throughout the organization
Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Technologist diploma or equivalent experience
  • Formal project management experience
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven problem solving, analytical thinking and project management skills
  • Broad exposure to statistical methods used to identify opportunities for improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of metallurgy as it relates to stainless steel products
  • Exposure to seamless tube manufacturing processes
  • Training or experience in lean manufacturing principles, ISO standards for quality, environmental health and safety
  • Some international travel required – must have valid passport for travel
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
