Irving House Addiction Treatment CentrePembroke, ON

Part-time
Irving House is a modern and innovative addiction treatment centre located in Pembroke, Ontario. We are currently looking for entry level part time clinical associates to join our treatment team and grow within the company through successful completion of a probationary period and demonstrations of initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director and senior staff members
  • Working effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical team members) in establishing treatment and monitoring processes
  • Engaging in professional development
  • Participating in team building and service development, when required
  • Contributing on an ongoing basis to maintain a healthy workplace environment
  • Client supervision and support
  • Holding clients accountable to rules which may include breathalyzer and urine screening as well as being able to discharge a client when necessary
  • Be supportive and give guidance to anyone who calls or contacts via phone or online chat
  • Administer medication following the Irving House policies and procedures
  • Cleaning duties
  • Driving clients to meetings/appointments outside of Irving House
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of working with clients who have substance use disorder
  • Working towards certification within the appropriate field
  • Diploma in Human Services, Addiction Studies or Social Service Worker an asset
  • NVCI- Non violet crisis intervention or alternative crisis intervention training
  • Standard First-Aid and CPR Certifications are mandatory
  • Valid Driver’s License (Full G or F)

  • Proficient computer skills with basic knowledge of a windows environment, word processing, and E-mail, i.e., Microsoft Word, OneNote.

Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. The individual(s) that we are seeking must be flexible and have adequate availability.
