Marianhill is currently recruiting for a Cook. This is a part-time position.

Under the direction of the Manager of Nutrition Services, the Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean, pleasant atmosphere. Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill’s mission statement, established policies and procedures, current legislation and in a manner that respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of our residents to promote maximum independence.

Requirements:

• Work in an environment which is subject to hot and cold temperatures.
• Exercise good written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate concern and interest in the well-being of the residents.
• Be tactful, friendly and extremely patient when interacting with residents.
• Physical capabilities compatible with the current physical demands analysis for this position.

• Cook Certificate of Qualification issued by the Ontario Ministry of Education of Colleges and Universities.
• Completion of a current certificate of the food handler certification program offered by the public health department.
• One year of experience in an institutional kitchen setting or related organization.
• Oral and written proficiency in English is required; oral and written proficiency in French is preferred.
• Excellent attendance is essential.

Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to COVID-19, influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a two-step Mantoux TB skin test.

You will be required to provide an original, vulnerable sector criminal record check clear of any and all offences and sign a declaration at time of hire.

Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the employer and you must participate in the N95 mask fit testing program as applicable.
