Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC)
Petawawa, Ontario (located in Eastern Ontario, 170 kilometers northwest of Ottawa)
Term: Term part-time contract
Hours: Part-time positions (20 -22 hours per week – split shifts to accommodate programming before and after classroom hours)
Salary: $14.73/hr (RECE), $12.41/hr (Non-ECE)
Benefits: 6% vacation pay with each pay
Closing Date: August 4, 2017 at 12pm

The Educator reports directly to the Supervisor and is responsible as a member of the child care team for supporting the effective functioning of the school age and extended day programs operating in the school setting.
 Early Childhood Education diploma and membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators is essential;
 Previous work experience in a licensed childcare setting is preferred.
Core Competencies:
The Educator will possess the following:
 Display high level of initiative;
 Strong communication skills in English (French an asset);
 Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Word;
 Sensitivity and tact in dealing with people;
 Familiarity with all legislation according to the Child Care and Early Years Act of Ontario to ensure complete compliance with respect to Ministry Standards;
 Familiarity with ‘how does learning happen?’ Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years;
 Exhibit knowledge with the ELECT document for the purposes of developmental tracking and program planning;
 Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of the military lifestyle and families affiliated with the Canadian forces;
 Ability to work well within a team environment;
 Current immunization records.
