The Canadian MHLH In-Service Support program has an opportunity for an Engineering Customer Support – Airframe Service Technical Specialist to join the Boeing Rotorcraft Support Team.  This position will report directly to the MHLH Program Manager and work in concert with the program Chief Engineer.  The responsibly of this position include but is not limited to the following:

• Effectively manages all of the CH147 Chinook Helicopter Airframe technical requests

• Develops, reviews and staffs engineering and supportability documents such as aircraft modifications, aircraft special inspections, aircraft inspection change proposal and engineering dispositions (including non-standard repairs)

• Provides life cycle material management support and advice to the asset managers

• Regularly monitors and tracks aircraft component performance using established aircraft maintenance management information tools

• Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and continuous improvement objectives pertaining to the affordability of the fleet and support systems.

• Develops, directs, and applies program level technical and knowledge of engineering planning, supportability, scheduled maintenance plan development and on-going technical support in support of the CH147 Chinook fleet Sustainment.

• Develops, improves and maintains engineering and airworthiness processes that support the MHLH program decision makers.

• May lead others and direct all phases of the Engineering Support elements to sustain and maintain the Royal Canadian Air Force CH147 Chinook fleet.

• Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and continuous improvement objectives pertaining to the affordability of the fleet and support systems.

• Supports Program Managements functions pertaining to the MHLH program.

• Supports identification and evaluation of risk, issue and opportunity and address with mitigation plans; elevate for additional support as necessary.

• Documents actions, and ensures all stakeholders are held accountable to meeting their commitments for the program.  Functions as a liaison to internal stakeholders at Boeing and to external with our customer.

• Possesses strong team building skills and adept at maintaining good relationship with all stakeholders.

• Facilitates and oversees engineering processes with a cross functional team including, system engineering, system safety, Integrated Project Teams, the Weapon System Management team, and the Squadron Maintenance Engineering Team in support of the equipment relating to the CH-147 fleet.

Be able to perform assigned work statement with minimal direction and supervision.  Actively participates in determining objectives of assignment; project plans, schedules, and independently arranges activities to accomplish those objectives. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.  Interact with senior level personnel both internal and external to resolve significant issues which require coordination between multiple organizations including our customer and Boeing Suppliers. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.



Accountable to the Medium to Heavy Lift Helicopter Program Manager and Chief Engineer for all support to the customer.

Typical Education / Experience
Engineering degree is preferable but not essential as long as the candidate’s knowledge and experience in the support of aerospace platforms is significant.
Rotary Wing experience is preferable
Experience of Aerospace/Airframe product Life Cycle Material Management is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Air Force Technical Airworthiness Policy is desirable but not essential
Must have the right to work in Canada.  Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Must be able to travel to Ottawa, Ontario and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania without restrictions
