Description:
Sands on Golden Lake Inn, Spa & Restaurant is located on Golden Lake, an hour and 45 minutes west of Ottawa. Our well-appointed accommodations includes spacious guest rooms, luxury vacation suites, three-bedroom chalets, and cottage. We also have a restaurant, /lounge, and a full service spa overlooking Golden Lake. Our banquet facility seats 120 people.

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Event Coordinator-Front Desk Administrator. This is a full-time, contract position until April 2022.

This position includes many diverse responsibilities. The job descriptions and duties include but are not limited to:

Event Coordinator:

  • Coordination and planning of events (weddings, birthdays, corporate meetings, etc.)
  • Meeting and tours with event organizers
  • Set-up for upcoming events
  • Day-of event coordination, ensuring all details are complete as arranged with the client
  • Review events and communicate all event details with all departments.
  • Complete invoices and collect payments for events.

Front Desk Administrator:

  • Greeting and directing of guests
  • Checking out and settling guest accounts
  • Taking hotel, spa, and restaurant reservations
  • Handling resort reservations and using reservation software
  • Answering phones and emails
  • Resolving guest issues and complaints
  • Nightly reporting
  • Providing local tourism information to guests
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be energetic, personable, and committed to their position. A positive attitude and outstanding customer relation skills is critical, as is the ability to learn new skills and adapt in a high pace environment.

  • Previous event planning experience is an asset
  • Previous hotel or hospitality experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office and Windows
  • Strong administrative and data entry skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Customer service focused
  • Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail
