Description:
The Renfrew County District School Board is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Assistant. This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week.

As a member of the Board’s human resources team, in which cross-training, sharing and working collaboratively in the performance of the respective functions are valued expectations of the department, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the work of the Human Resources Officers and Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation, development and maintenance of a variety of human resources functions
  • Assist with the research, development and implementation of special projects (e.g. recruitment, selection, training, development, labour relations)
  • Assist with all aspects of the recruitment cycle
  • Record and maintain data in HRIS and compile and analyze reports as required
  • Prepare general correspondence and provide excellent client service to all stakeholders
  • Ensure department operational effectiveness (e.g. mail, filing, bring forward system, accounting functions)
  • Maintain human resources department internal and external webpage
  • Schedule meetings, draft and distribute agendas, record minutes and follow up on action items
Qualifications
  • Minimum two year post-secondary education in human resources management or related discipline
  • Minimum two years related experience in human resources, administrative or other support position(s)
  • Proven ability to identify sensitive situations and recognize the impact of potential solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to suit situation and audience
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use discretion, tact and diplomacy in dealing with confidential issues
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills with particular attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS)
