PTAG is currently seeking Project Controls Professional capable of providing Planning and Scheduling, Primavera Administration, Progress Measurement, Cost Control and Change Management expertise to allow stakeholders to make key informed decisions for the successful execution of projects by collecting, analyzing, forecasting data in a high quality, consistent and timely manner. The individual will be required to coordinate with the project teams for providing guidance on P6 issues as well as review the quality of schedules using Acumen Fuse and provide the corrective actions for improvement. Knowledge and understanding of ANSI EIA 748-C guidelines is an asset.

  • Project Controls professionals will provide a framework which identifies the requirements for all activities within:
    • Primavera Administration and schedule diagnostics and improvement to the quality of schedules
    • Change Management and implementation into Primavera
    • Schedule Control
    • Cost / Change Control
    • Progress Measurement
    • Progress and Performance Reporting
  • Primavera Admin and Schedule Diagnostics
    • Administer the Primavera Database(s)- Access, privileges, Activity Codes, resources, resource etc. codes by following Company procedure
    • Run Acumen Fuse reports for schedule diagnostic and provide feedback to the project teams
    • Provide forensic analysis for change control
    • Manage the baselines in the database by following company’s procedure
    • Identify changes to critical path and provide feedback to the projects as well as the Central PMO
    • Implement, manage and coordinate integration of projects by using external project links and run site-wide critical path with analysis
  • Schedule Control
    • Develop baseline schedules and provide updates using P6
    • Provide critical path analysis
    • Monitor and analyze schedule variance and suggest corrective actions
    • Inform management of changes to critical path
    • Identify and communicate any risk of milestone slippage
    • Establish a consistent, uniform approach to planning and scheduling
    • Ensure schedule quality by using P6 log and/or diagnostic software
  • Cost Control/Change Control
    • Minimize project costs by ensuring final costs are within approved budget (or lower)
    • Prepare consistent, accurate and reliable forecasts
    • Timely identification of trends and changes
    • Monitor and analyze cost variance and suggest corrective actions
    • Inform management of budget, cost and performance
    • Create a cost awareness atmosphere
  • Progress Measurement
    • Establish a baseline budget and schedule against which performance can be measured, evaluated and reported
    • Measure progress based on established Earned Value Techniques
  • Progress Reporting
    • Status Reports
    • Progress/Schedule Report
    • Trends/Change Management Report
    • Monthly Report
    • Dashboard preparation for program level reporting
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Written and verbal management reporting and attendance at customer interface meetings as required
  • Mentoring/Training of junior Project Controls staff
  • Travel to sites and other locations as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related technical field would be an asset
  • 6 – 10 years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility in the Management of Project Controls
  • Knowledge and understanding of ANSI EIA 748-C guidelines is an asset.
  • Active membership or accreditation in AACE, PMI, or similar association is a plus
  • Reviewing and approving manpower requirements and exercising management direction with respect to selection, appraisal, and training of staff
  • Providing technical knowledge and guidance in the design and delivery of highly complex technical issues
  • Knowledge/understanding of overall project/business processes
