The Corporation of the Town of Arnprior invites applications for:
Work Location: Public Works Garage (73 James Street)
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time, Unionized (CUPE LOCAL 4960)
Hours of Work: 42.5 per week
Hourly Wage: $25.15 – 27.65
Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, this position is responsible for maintaining the Town’s infrastructure through the performance of a variety of labour-type jobs, including but not limited to, maintenance of equipment, roads, linear assets (water, sanitary and storm infrastructure), cemeteries, buildings and grounds. The Maintenance Technician also operates and maintains the Town of Arnprior Municipal Residential Water Distribution Subsystem (Class I) and Wastewater Collection Facility (Class II) in adherence to the Certificate of Approvals as well as all other applicable Acts, Regulations, Guidelines and policies.
The successful candidate must possess minimum Grade 12 plus relevant education/accreditation, minimum 3 years’ experience in a related municipal Public Works position, inherent knowledge of welding/fabrication (6 months’ experience/training), experienced in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment and machinery, including backhoe, loader, dump truck, etc. (2 years’ previous experience) and possess and maintain a “DZ” Ontario Driver’s Licence.
