Looking to add to our management staff.

Operations/Administrative Assistant

The main objective for this position is to increase the operational effectiveness at Welk Electric Ltd.. This individual would be responsible for, but is not limited to:

-Maintaining expected and anticipated Inventory levels

-Ordering of materials for jobs of various sizes

-Pricing of materials and maintaining relationships with current suppliers.

-Finding of new suppliers

-Receiving, accepting and sorting of materials

-Taking out permits and scheduling inspections

-Scheduling work to coordinate with other organizations such as hydro utilities, other trades, etc.

-Create work schedules.

-Monitor and evaluate performance.

-Producing Invoices and ultimately responsible for their timely collection

-Able to take direction from upper management and put their plans into action

-Answer and direct phone calls

-Once this individual is established in the organization we would encourage them to improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.

-Formulate and implement organizational policies and procedures to maximize output and efficiencies.

-Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.

-Develop and maintain relationships with new and recurring customers of Welk Electric Ltd.

-Able to perform bank reconciliations and monthly reports would be considered an asset

Key attributes:

-Willingness to learn about materials/tasks surrounding the electrical, plumbing and heating trades

-Must have an understanding of Simply Accounting (or equivalent accounting software) with a willingness to learn

-Work with Excel, Word, Outlook etc.

-Punctual

-Effective communicator both verbally and in writing

-Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

-Ability to work independently and with others

-Take initiative on administrative/operations tasks

-Able to handle the daily stresses of the job and adapt to a dynamic work environment

-Strong organizational skills

-Time management skills and ability to prioritize work

-Valid driver’s license Has a positive attitude

Hours :

-44 hours/week – Monday to Friday (During periods of increasing workload, may be required to work overtime)

Job Type: Full-time

Required experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 1 year
