Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network – Pembroke, ON

$35,000 – $38,000 a year – Full-time, Permanent
Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network ( is a network of caring individuals and organizations working together to eliminate the effects of child poverty through practical assistance, education, and advocacy. We are seeking a Program Coordinator to work closely with the Executive Director to support low income clients in a dignified and respectful way, and an inclusive and empowering manner; we want to help families in our community feel a sense of inclusion and belonging.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Social Work/Social Justice Field
  • Canadian Permanent Residence or Citizenship
  • Group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer literacy and competency (Microsoft Office suite, ie PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
  • Experience in management, supervision, coaching, and development of others
  • Ability to assess client needs based on SDOH
  • Proven background in Social Work/Social Justice
  • Knowledgeable about local and provincial/federal resources available to low income families
  • Interpersonal networking skills
  • Ability to interact in a non-judgemental, non-discriminatory manner
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proven track record of efficiency and attention to detail in a fast paced environment
  • Valid class G2 or G driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle

Bilingualism is an asset, but is not required.

Other Requirements:

The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team, as well as be a forward thinking and positive individual with self starting and self motivating attitude. Positivity and problem solving skills are essential to this role. The candidate will work a full 37.5 hour work week, which may include but is not limited to evenings and weekends, thus the candidate must have open availability. This position includes an attractive and extensive benefits package.

Due to the nature of the organization, the successful candidate may be placed anywhere in the County of Renfrew in accordance with agency requirements.
