|The mission of Bernadette McCann House is to work for change that will end abuse by providing safety, support and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, support services for children, groups and workshops.|
We are currently recruiting for two supervisory positions: an Outreach Supervisor and a Residential Superior. As part of a new dynamic structure, the organization is reconfiguring its structure to respond to the every changing needs of the sector and to be more inclusive to all members of the County.
Through provision of education, prevention and awareness information, it is anticipated those who access services will have a better understanding regarding domestic violence.
This position will report to the Executive Director by providing leadership to the Outreach Team. The position will lead the Outreach Team who serve individuals and families in their local area to rebuild their future in a variety of ways by assisting them and their family.
This position will report to the Executive Director by providing leadership to the Residential Team. The position will lead the Residential Team who serve individuals and families within the 16-bed emergency shelter.
|Individuals need to be committed to supporting women and children who have witnessed violence. Your experience is required in supervising staff, thorough knowledge of social services and excellent case management. You have refined interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, a well-developed database systems application and a thorough understanding of the issues of violence against women and children and other related services.|
Applicants should possess a graduate of a post-secondary program in social sciences or related field. Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively both as a team member and independently is part of this role. The ability to speak and write in both English and French is preferred, as is a valid driver’s license and access to a car.
