Hours: 42.5 per week
Hourly Wage: $23.75 – $26.25/hour (based on certifications held and as per the Collective Agreement with CUPE)
Job Summary: The Town of Arnprior is currently looking for a Skilled Labourer to fill an expected six (6) month vacancy. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor this position is responsible for maintaining the Town’s infrastructure, through the performance of a variety of labour-type jobs, including but not limited to: maintenance of equipment, roads, linear assets (water, sanitary and storm infra-structure), cemeteries, buildings and grounds. The Skilled Labourer operates and maintains the Town of Arnprior Municipal Residential Water Distribution Subsystem (Class I) and Wastewater Collection Facility (Class II) in adherence to applicable legislation and Town policy.
Qualifications: The successful candidate shall have completion of secondary school (Grade 12), a valid DZ driver’s license in good standing, experience in operating heavy equipment (including backhoe, loader, dump truck, snow plow, etc.), the ability to working outside in extreme weather conditions and to perform labour intensive/physically demanding work, applied knowledge of water distribution and wastewater collection system, knowledge of methods applicable to civil construction, and previous experience working with others and the public. Preference will be given to candidates who possess at the very minimum their OIT Certifications in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection along with the above qualifications.
