The Corporation of the Town of Arnprior invites applications for the position of:
Plant Operator, All Levels (OIT – Level 3)
Posting Date: September 21st, 2017
Job Type: Full-Time Unionized (CUPE Local 4960)
Work Location: Water Filtration Plant, Water Pollution Control Centre
Reports to: Waterworks Supervisor
Hourly Wage: $27.38 – $35.59/hr (based on certifications held and as per the Collective Agreement with CUPE)
Weekly Schedule: 35 hrs/week (Monday to Friday, stand-by/on-call required).
The Town of Arnprior is currently inviting applications from candidates to fill a full-time unionized position of Plant Operator. Ideally, the position will be filled by an individual possessing their Level III Certifications, however, any candidates with OIT (or higher) certifications in Water and Wastewater are welcome to apply. Reporting to the Waterworks Supervisor this position will perform a variety of processes, technical, and mechanical work for the operation, maintenance and repair of the Town’s water and wastewater treatment systems and related facilities.
All candidates shall have completed post-secondary schooling in Water and Wastewater Treatment or related field, will possess a valid “G” Ontario Driver’s License in good standing, and will have the ability to obtain a satisfactory vulnerable sector background check. The ideal candidate shall have at least four (4) years’ experience as an Operator in a Level III type of municipal residential subsystem, including at least two (2) as an OIC in a Level III or Level IV subsystem or at least four (4) years’ experience as an Operator in a Level III facility, including at least two (2) years as an OIC in a Level II, Level III, or Level IV facility. Should an ideal candidate not be found, an individual possessing at the very minimum their Operator in Training (OIT) in Water and Wastewater Treatment as defined under O.Reg. 128/04 and O.Reg. 129/04 respectively may be considered.
