POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for the accounts payable tasks for the business. The incumbent reports to the Manager, Finance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Assist with monitoring and actioning accounts payable inbox, physical invoice receipts, and intercompany settlements
  • Coding invoices into automated accounts payable system including reconciliation to supplier statements, purchase orders, and other ad hoc reconciliations as necessary
  • Assist in investigation and correction of differences, discrepancies, and application issues
  • Maintenance of payment system including banking details, vendor details, and other pertinent tracking
  • Complete electronic and manual payment runs to settle payable amounts in a timely and efficient manner
  • Complete treasury payments between legal entities, investment accounts, and other ad hoc cash management tasks
  • Complete the weekly bank reconditions for assigned bank accounts, including resolving discrepancies
  • Post, reconcile, correct, and allocate within the general ledger
  • Liaise with Supervisor, Accounts Payable for ad hoc general ledger reporting and quarter end reporting, as necessary
  • Adhere to and monitor internal policy related to expense payments
  • Assist with the internal monthly reporting process as required
  • Assist with Sarbanes Oxley Act 404 processes and reporting by maintaining appropriate documentation and files, as required and
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities, as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Recent University graduate; Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance strongly preferred).
  • Previous intern/summer job experience in accounts payable experience (multinational company /reinsurance company experience considered an asset) considered an asset
  • Proficient computer literacy including the MS suite of products (experience with Coupa, B4B Concur, and SUN Systems considered an asset but not necessary)
  • Experience with various banking systems and interfaces considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and act on financial data
  • Ability to work in a multidimensional team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including multitasking
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines and driving accurate results
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients, colleagues, and customers while exercising discretion and confidentiality in all matters; and
  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as may be necessary
