Position: AZ/DZ Driver

Location: Pembroke, Ontario
Shift-time: start at 2:30-3am to 2-3pm it very day to day (Monday to Friday) — Weekends as required

Pay Rate: $20–$28 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

One of our clients is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious AZ Driver to join their team in Pembroke. This role involves hauling deliveries of reinforcing steel and other materials to a variety of customer sites across Ontario, and/or to Richmond Hill shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a straight or articulated truck while contributing to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities:

· Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

· Haul reinforcing steel on flat-bed trailers

· Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, and brakes

· Perform minor truck maintenance (e.g., adding oil, fueling)

· Monitor vehicle performance and ensure mechanical fitness

· Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections daily

· Document inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment remains in proper working order

· Work in various environments, including outdoor conditions and adverse weather

· Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all tasks

Requirements:

· Valid AZ driver’s license with Air Brake (Z) endorsement, or a valid DZ license

· Minimum of 3 years of driving experience as an AZ driver

· Clean and current Driver’s Abstract

· Clean Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) certificate

· Experience hauling steel is an asset

· Knowledge of safe driving practices

· Previous experience in an industrial or construction environment is an asset

· Experience with machine operation is a bonus

· Strong command of the English language — excellent verbal and written communication is essential

· Note: Shift could start at 2:30am-3am to 2pm-3pm it very day to day; Mostly Pembroke to Ottawa or Sudbury 6am or 7am arrival time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
