SUMMER COORDINATOR – Work period May 15 – August 20, 2023 – Working from home during the months of May and June, the Summer Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating training for all staff, preparing logistics for Training Weekend for staff, reviewing camper registrations and liaising with parents and Directors, assisting in planning the Open House in June, developing Counsellor break schedules and cabin assignments and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. During the months of July and August, the Summer Coordinator will work on-site at Camp Lau-Ren assisting the Directors and Executive Director. Standard First Aid and CPR qualifications are required. Minimum age 18 is required. Salary range: $950 – $1,150 per week (room and board included for the months of July and August).
SUMMER STAFF WORK PERIOD – JUNE 26 to AUGUST 20, 2023
HEAD COOK – Mature, self-motivated individual. Must be able to prepare food in an efficient, timely manner following a set menu for 75 – 100 persons, 3 meals per day. Preference will be given to persons with two or more year’s experience. Salary range: $725 – $950 per week (room and board included).
ASSISTANT COOK – Self-motivated person who can work with minimum supervision. As part of a team, the successful candidate must be able to prepare food in an efficient, timely manner under the direction of the Head Cook. Minimum age of 18 is preferred. Salary range: $600 – $700 per week (room and board included).
WATERFRONT DIRECTOR – NLS and watercraft qualifications (successful applicant must be prepared to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operators Card). Minimum age of 18 is required. Successful applicants will be in charge of all water-related activities and must be prepared to work in a team environment. Salary range: $650 – $750 per week (room and board included).
ASSISTANT WATERFRONT – Successful applicants must have his/her NLS and watercraft qualifications (successful applicants must be prepared to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operators Card) and be able to work under the direction of the Waterfront Director. Successful applicants must be prepared to work in a team environment and will be responsible for all aspects of Tuck. Minimum age of 18 is required. Salary range: $600 – $700 per week (room and board included).
FLOATER – Lifeguard / Kitchen Assistant. The successful candidate will be required to act as a floater between all jobs at Camp as needs arise. Applicants must have his/her NLS and Watercraft qualifications (successful applicants must be prepared to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operators Card). Successful applicants must be prepared to work in a team environment. Minimum age of 17 is required. Salary range: $550 – $650 per week (room and board included).
CARETAKER/JANITOR – A mature self-motivated person required to maintain the site. Washrooms must be cleaned and sanitized daily and other duties performed as required. Knowledge of some repairs is an asset. Retired persons welcome. Successful applicants must be prepared to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operators Card and be able to work in a team environment. Salary range: $625 – $725 per week (room and board included).
COUNSELLORS – Successful applicants will work in one-week intervals for five to seven weeks throughout the summer. Applicants must be enthusiastic and responsible team players who will provide fun and leadership for campers. Counselors will live in cabins with campers and lead campers in the daily activities of summer camp. Age 16 required. Applicants must be available to attend a group interview on either April 1, 2023, or April 15, 2023. Salary: $525 – $575 per week (room and board included).
