The office offers a range of preventative, restorative and cosmetic dentistry services and procedures for adults and children. We are currently recruiting for a Dental Hygienist to join our friendly, team-spirited practice. This is a part-time position, working between 24 and 32 hours per week.

 

The Dental Hygienist works in a fast-paced environment where patient care is paramount. The ideal person to join our team has a gentle approach with patients, excellent interpersonal skills and is enthusiastic about their career.

 

Additional responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ensuring patients receive optimal hygiene treatment for optimal oral health
  • Performing all aspects of dental hygiene services including scaling, root planing, polishing, topical fluoride application, pit and fissure sealants and whitening
  • Collecting and updating medical and dental histories from patients
  • Charting dental conditions based on the dentist’s observations and evaluations
  • Explaining dental conditions to patients in an easy-to-understand manner and presenting treatment options based on the dentist’s recommendations
  • Disinfecting operatories and sterilizing dental instruments following proper infection control guidelines
  • Instructing patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a recognized dental hygiene program
  • Current registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
  • Current CPR and First Aid training
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
