Driver/Material Handler

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Driver/Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of a 5 tonne straight truck and our warehouse, ensuring that materials are picked up, transported, handled, and stored effectively. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to operate various types of equipment, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards within the warehouse environment and while driving and serving sites.

Duties

• Drive to Ottawa to pickup palletized products.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack safely to move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Assist with heavy lifting and transportation of goods, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the vehicle and warehouse to promote a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure synchronized efforts to maintain order of products.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues.

Experience

• Previous experience as a driver and in warehouse setting is preferred, with a focus on shipping and receiving operations.
• Experience operating an automatic 5 tonne straight truck and a forklift.
• Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the demands of the job.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 9 – 15 per week
