Location: Comfort Inn Pembroke, Ontario

Comfort Inn Pembroke is currently recruiting for a Front Desk Agent reporting to the Front Desk Manager who will be responsible for desk Shift.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Able to make reasonable and professional decisions.
  • Handle daily check in and checkouts.
  • Accurately manage the cash drawer and credit card system.
  • Communicate pertinent shift information to the next shift and direct supervisor.
  • Work Collaboratively with peers and supervisors
  • Train new hires
  • Maintain a positive work environment.
  • Check guests in and out of the hotel in a courteous and pleasant manner. Use the appropriate phrases and greetings when interacting with guests. Conduct self in a friendly and attentive manner during all guest encounters.
  • Offer assistance to the individual needs and requests of all guests.
  • Ensure guest needs are responded to in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest and entertainment attractions.
  • Use proper telephone and reservation etiquette including describing the hotel, proper rate quotation and capturing reservations.
  • Field and answer telephone queries and reservation calls that come in.
  • Handle rooming lists and look into room pricing.
  • Handle Banquet rooms assignments, and blocks including contracts.
  • Take care of market place ordering.
  • Handle and execute Front desk and breakfast room scheduling and ordering of breakfast items.
  • Required to be knowledge, understanding, and adhere to Company Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • Ensuring the department staff members work in a safe and conscientious manner.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Handle any guest complaints that may arise.
  • Prepare any basic reports that may be required.
  • Liaise with Choice Franchise for and support team for any day to day functionalities
  • Manage the budgeted work hours in line with company standards.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • QualificationsKnowledge/Education/Experience:Physical Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Choice hotels experience will be a plus
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift.
  • Long hours are sometimes required.
  • Strong Communication ability with other departments
  • Must have work authorisation for Canada
  • Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must maintain composure under pressure
