Full job description

THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Recreation Facility Supervisor, the Grounds and Parks Maintenance Worker performs inspections of sports and recreation facilities and play fields for serviceability and safety. They ensure playgrounds and recreation fields are free of litter; remove weeds and debris around the facilities, as required. The Grounds and Parks Maintenance Worker will operate equipment such as mowers and trimmers; maintains ball diamonds and track, as required. They are responsible for applying water to soccer pitch and ball diamonds, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Valid Driver’s License (Ontario)
Experience
In grounds maintenance
In outdoor sports facilities and equipment maintenance
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
