Full job description
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant is accountable to provide clerical support for Human resources Services. They will be responsible for providing a consistently high standard of human resources support, assisting and supporting the HR team, internal stakeholders and clients by performing a wide range of duties from all aspects of compensation, payroll support, benefits and pension administration, and recruitment. The HR Assistant will provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders and clients on hospital policies and procedures, in additional to the interpretation of collective agreements.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum two (2) year College Diploma in Administration, Human Resources or relevant field
- Minimum one (1) year related work experience supporting human resource functions and performing similar administrative duties
- Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements
- Client-service orientated individual with demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-paced, demanding working environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, email and computer-based reporting tools is required
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong client service focus and keen attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, patient, and confidentiality
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
- Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement
- Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
- Bilingualism preferred (French/English)
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Supports the HR Department in their tasks as needed
- Processes badge access requests
- Processes and posts job postings
- Schedules candidate interviews
- Completes candidate reference checks
- Creates and maintains employee personnel files
- Data entry into Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Processes resignations, terminations, and retirements
- Processes requests for employment letters
- Processes documentation for Tuition Support or Loan Forgiveness programs
- Administers bi-weekly Probationary Period Reports
- Processes, maintains, and submits monthly reports
- Maintains and manages employee locker assignments
- Audits and orders office supplies for department
- Processes Portability of Service Claims
- Other duties as assigned
