The Opportunity:

WSP E & I Canada Ltd. is hiring an Information Management / Document Control Administrator to join our team in Chalk River, Ontario. This position will report to the Quality Department.

The position is a full-time permanent position for a self-motivated, energetic, and organized individual to become trained in various aspects of our day-to-day operations related to document control, oversight of activities, resolving issues, reporting, team support, and other duties as assigned.

This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution of the Near Surface Disposal (NSDF) Project in Chalk River. The NSDF project, following regulatory approval, represents a 5-year build of the low-level waste repository in Chalk River, with an estimated capital cost of more than $500M. WSPs Resilient Environments business has a long and successful history of delivering innovative solutions, and they have a solid reputation in the industry. A day in the life:

  • Ensure the document control function is being performed in accordance with corporate procedures, project specific procedures and project requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain the document management and records procedures for the project.
  • Participate in the setup and maintenance of digital file storage (i.e., project drives, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with the project team; including, providing ongoing updates on status of work.
  • Store, secure, revise, retrieve, distribute, and archive project documents on daily basis.
  • Perform formatting and quality checks on documents before final issue.
  • Track all manner of project statistics and information.
  • Organize, save, and report information to managers and team members.
  • Prepare reports as requested by project management.
  • Plan and organize project meetings and events. Record meeting minutes/notes.
  • Perform general office organization and administrative duties.

 

What you’ll bring to WSP …

  • More than one year of progressive experience or more in a Document Control / administration position.
  • Strong skills with MS Office applications are essential – (proven experience in document formatting, generating Word templates, creating and manipulating Excel formulas, etc.)
  • Related education with a diploma or degree from an accredited university or college is considered an asset but not required.
  • Eligible for Reliability security clearance (individual must have 3 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia).
