Smitty’s Home Hardware in Pembroke is a family-owned and operated building supply company. Our building services include delivery of lumber, trim and moulding, drywall and panelling, windows and doors, masonry, flooring and more.

We are currently recruiting for a Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) Salesperson to join our team.  This is a full-time position.

An LBM Salesperson works with homeowners and contractors to determine their needs and provide solutions. This includes selling deck packages, garage packages, roofing, siding, renovation projects, etc.  This role also works to establish relationships with builders and contractors to provide the high level of service that they rely on to do their jobs.

Additional duties include:

  • Driving sales through strong customer service, product knowledge, and providing complete solutions
  • Estimating materials for building and renovation projects
  • Continuously improving product knowledge and sales skills
  • Helping customers find what they need in the store
  • Maintaining designated area of the store
  • Ordering product
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Motivation for sales
  • Outgoing personality
  • Basic computer skills
  • Previous sales experience is an asset
  • Experience in construction is an asset
  • Interior design skills are an asset
