Full Job Description

1. Perform personal care and selected nursing measures to promote the comfort and safety of the residents.

2. Participates in the overall activation process developed by the facility to promote the well-being of each resident.

3. Attends the care conferences as requested by the Director of Care/designate to assist in the formulation of a comprehensive plan of care for each resident.

4. Observes and promptly report changes in a resident’s physical and emotional condition.

5. Maintains accurate documentation, according to established policies, reflecting each resident’s condition, care, and treatments.

6. Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents’ families, and visitors.

7. Directs all inquiries regarding residents’ care and conditions to the Charge Nurse.

8. Participates in the Quality Improvement Program.

9. Is aware of the Resident’s Rights and Responsibilities and endeavors to respect and promote them.

10. Assists in maintaining a tidy and clean environment.

11. Assist with laundry as per schedule.

12. Assists in the dining room at mealtimes to serve residents, assist with feeding, cueing, monitoring, documenting, and reporting to the Supervisor any concerns.

13. Attends staff meetings as required – to know changes in the facility that have taken place and update knowledge in better caring for the residents.

14. Reports all accidents and incidents promptly and accurately.

15. Shares responsibility for the care of supplies and equipment as well as the personal belongings of the residents.

16. Attends in-service programs to better care for the residents.

17. Performs other related duties as requested by the Director of Care/designate.

Must have Certificate as Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.09 per hour
