| St. Francis Memorial Hospital is a small rural, fully accredited hospital offering both medical and complex continuing in-patient care, emergency care and a full range of diagnostic and clinical services. Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care is a free support service for individuals and their families who are faced with a life-limiting condition. Through a collaborative and integrated partnership with the Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care, St. Francis Memorial Hospital is seeking applications for Personal Support Workers. These are casual positions. Working as a member of the clinical team and reporting to the Hospice Clinical Director & Chief Nursing Officer, the Personal Support Worker provides and supports patient care delivery for both the hospice and hospital. The Personal Support Worker provides basic nursing care to the patients of both organizations and assists with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, food and fluid intake and elimination needs, and mobility as outlined in the nursing care plans specific to each patient. The Personal Support Worker provides close supportive care to patients and families, and specialized support of specific populations such as individuals living with dementia, individuals who are palliative, and those with life limiting illness and disease. In addition, the Personal Support Worker assists with restorative nursing functions in the hospital to maintain or improve function and prevent decline or adverse outcomes. | |
