Life At Home is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team in Petawawa. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their homes. As a PSW, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the assistance they need with daily activities while promoting their independence and dignity.

Duties

• Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing to clients.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
• Support individuals with disabilities and seniors in their daily living activities.
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medication schedules.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the client’s living space.
• Assist clients with mobility and transfers as needed.
• Document care provided and report any changes in the client’s condition to the healthcare team.
• Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving or home care is preferred.
• Knowledge of senior care practices, including dementia care, is an asset.
• Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is beneficial.
• Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Valid certification or training as a Personal Support Worker is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
