We are recruiting four Public Works Student Labourers. These are 16-week positions, starting May 5, 2025. The position is 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Duties of this position:

  • Trimming of brush and grass from township roads and properties.
  • Debris and litter collection.
  • Traffic control and assisting with road construction.
  • Installation of roadway signage.
  • Painting of fire hydrants, maintenance equipment and buildings.
  • General custodial and maintenance duties.
Qualifications
  • Able to work independently.
  • Physically capable of performing the assigned duties.
  • Experience in construction and operating maintenance equipment such as grass trimmers, lawnmowers, etc. will be an asset.
  • May be subject to inclement weather and/or weather extremes during the discharge of responsibilities.
  • Considerable periods of standing and/or moderate walking in the field may be required.
  • Valid Class G2 or G driver’s licence is required.
  • Must provide personal CSA approved safety boots and footwear.
  • To be eligible you must have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.
