Valley Manor Inc. is a private, non-profit, 90-bed long-term care facility in Barry’s Bay. We are a dynamic and progressive long-term care home that is a fully accredited facility. We offer quality care in a friendly and welcoming environment with the safety of our residents as our highest priority. Our mission is to provide a home for those who need our care and we are committed to the safety of our residents and in compliance with the Long-Term Care Homes Act legislation.

 

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Registered Practical Nurse. There are permanent, part-time positions available working day and evening shifts.

 

The Registered Practical Nurse performs duties that optimize the care of our residents. Under direction from the Director of Care, our nursing staff are trusted and relied upon staff for our long-term care residents.
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Practical Nurse with a current (or temporary) certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Post-registered practical nurse education and experience in gerontology or a related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, assessment, interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to supervise, and provide direction to PSWs and other staff
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to providing resident-focused care in a long-term care setting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience with RAI-MDS, Point-Click-Care and electronic MAR is very beneficial
  • Knowledge related to the Long-Term Care Homes Act (FLTCA)
  • Vulnerable sector check valid within the last 6 months or can obtain one
  • Immunization status and immunity to a select group of communicable illnesses as a pre-condition of employment
