The County of Renfrew is recruiting for a Resident Care Coordinator at Miramichi Lodge. This is a full-time position.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for the administrative functions, team activities, and delivery of care to the residents of Miramichi Lodge. The RCC directs the care in a manner that promotes and enhances the residents’ lifestyle, while providing support to families and staff. This position is an essential contributor to the efficient operation of the nursing department, consistent with the mission, vision and values (competencies) of Miramichi Lodge.


  • Ensures nursing services are provided in a manner that focuses on the satisfaction of the clients and fully supports their rights.
  • Contributes to the preparation and control of the approved nursing department budget and all related expenditures.
  • Coordinates the facility-wide staff education program including general orientation program.
  • Ensures the effective, efficient utilization of human resources for the nursing department.
  • Responsible for the effective management of assets for the department.
  • Promotes and enhances positive relationships with community and external organizations.
  • Promotes and enhances effective communications throughout the Nursing Department.
  • Assumes responsibility as designate for Director of Care.
  • Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable provincial and municipal acts.
  • Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the operational policies of the County of Renfrew.


  • A general registered nurse with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current certification in gerontology with the Canadian Nurses Association.
  • Post-registered nurse education in gerontology or three years of relevant experience in long-term care.
  • IPAC certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet and databases.
  • Successfully display competencies of personal sensitivity, empathy, flexibility, adaptively, teamwork, accountability, coaching and feedback, and relationship building.
  • Immediate accessible transportation.
  • Ability to meet and maintain health requirement standards of Miramichi Lodge as per the long-term
  • Must have immediate accessible transportation.
