Job Description
Forging Forward Counselling Services has been established for 15+ years. Our staff of Registered Social Workers/Social Service Workers and Registered Psychotherapists offer counselling, trauma therapy, parenting support and information, and vocational rehabilitation services. Each counsellor has engaged in a different area of concentration and professional development training. Our counsellors work with adults, children and youth, couples and families with no waitlists and flexible appointment hours. In addition, we have staff trained as Clinical Traumatologists and as a Vocational Rehabilitation Professional.
Forging Forward is currently recruiting for a Social Service Worker or Social Worker/Psychotherapist to join our practice. This position is available immediately and is a part-time with leading to full-time, permanent position.
The candidate must be willing to see clients weekly on a flexible schedule that will include some evenings and some Saturdays. The incumbent must be available to see clients in-person at the physical location and should be available to see clients through virtual or telehealth services.
Responsibilities:
•       Provide individual, couple and family counselling
•       Provide professional and respectful services in a safe and confidential environment
•       Develop customized counselling plans with personalized goals and measurable outcomes
•       Use approaches that foster self-determination and promote resiliency
•       Offer in-person therapy with occasional phone and video sessions as appropriate
•       Manage correspondence and documentation using practice-management software (OWL, Microsoft Teams, etc.) in adherence with the OCSWSSW, CRPO and FFCS employment guidelines.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
•       Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or prospective regulatory college;
•       Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working directly with clients in a mental health setting
•       Experienced in provided counselling related to stress management, mental health support, relationships, trauma, separation and divorce, and psychosocial needs
•       Experience in working with adults, couples, children, youth and families
•       Trained and skilled in the use of a variety of modalities such as CBT, DBT, SFT, and trauma therapy
•       Experience with handling confidential information
•       Additional certification and/or designations would be considered an asset
•       Ability to provide a negative vulnerable sector record check
•       Proof of professional insurance as well as current registration, in good standing, with the regulatory body.
•       Skilled in independent work schedule and activity management
•       Able to work as a team in consultation and collaboration
•       The ability to offer services in French would be considered an asset

Additional Information
The hourly wage for this position is dependent on credentials (qualified and registered applicants) ranging from $26.50-$32.50 per hour for 20 – 40 hours per week.
Regular supervision will be provided by a Social Worker with supervision certification in compliance with the OCSWSSW Code of Ethics and CRPO, as part of the employment/contractual benefits.
The successful candidate will be required to maintain a full caseload (TBD) supported by the lead counsellor.
