We are recruiting for an Administrative Assistant – Accounts Receivable Clerk. This is a full-time, indefinite contract position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

The Role

The Administrative Assistant-Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for providing support for financial, administrative and reception tasks. This includes processing accounts receivable invoices, monitoring payments and expenditures, and weekly reviews of past due receivables.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely receipt of payments, conduct collection calls, liaise with management to clarify information, and  ensure appropriate documentation and communication are recorded in the files
  • Process accounts and incoming payments, issuing receipts and recording in the general ledger
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data
  • Maintain up-to-date records for County of Renfrew subsidy clients for all licensed daycare programs
  • Support to the bookkeeper as required
  • Prepare bills and invoices, verify discrepancies and resolve any billing issues
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger
  • Processes automatic withdrawals within the licensed childcare programs
  • Prepare and action all bank deposits on a weekly basis
  • Maintain contact with clients and staff as it relates to receivable matters
  • Prepare correspondence as deemed appropriate
  • Answer incoming calls
Qualifications
  • Secondary school diploma and post-secondary education in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of recent related work experience within an accounting department
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills with a sound knowledge of accounts receivable and maintaining ledgers
  • A high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Experience with diverse clientele (delivering front-line services) is an asset
  • Experience with accounting packages, QuickBooks preferred
  • Ability to provide a clear criminal record check, obtain an enhanced reliability security clearance, and vulnerable sector screening (current within six months)
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel and requisite driver’s insurance
  • Travel within the County of Renfrew
  • English mandatory, French is an asset
