Position: Labourer
Classification: GL-ELE-03
Location: Petawawa, Ontario
Wage: $24.58 to $26.73 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
Overtime: Potential for overtime
Anticipated Contract Dates: November 19, 2026 to May 5, 2027 (flexible)

Duties

  • General grounds maintenance and labour duties.
  • Fall cleanup, including leaf collection and debris removal.
  • Snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, and other designated areas.
  • Operation of snow blowers and use of hand tools such as shovels and ice chippers.
  • Application of sand and salt to maintain safe walking surfaces.
  • Minor fence repairs and maintenance.
  • Loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Safe operation of tools and equipment.
  • Reporting hazards, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted provincial driver’s licence.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DND 404 Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and crouching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, and ice.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • Overtime and winter call-ins may be required based on operational requirements and weather conditions.
