Job Description
Contract Child & Youth Caseworker
Location: Renfrew, Pembroke
Pay: $25.22
Description:
The mission of Bernadette McCann House (BMH) is to work for change that will end abuse, by providing safety, support and education to all those who experience abuse.  Our services Include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, court support, services for children and youth, groups and workshops.
We are currently recruiting a Child & Youth Caseworker. This is a contract position working 37.5 hours per week with a rate of pay of $25.22.  This contract will be from September 2026 to April 1, 2027, with the possibility of extension.  This position includes front-line services to children/youth who have witnessed or experienced violence, which includes one-to-one, safety planning, groups and drop-in sessions.  Provides information to children/youth regarding healthy relationships and advocates and makes referrals to other services.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
•       Graduate of post-secondary program in social science or related field
•       A thorough understanding of the issue of violence against women and the impact of children who witness violence.
•       Experience in crisis intervention
•        Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team member.
•       A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
