Wise Owl Day Care Centre is a licensed, non-profit childcare centre. We provide programs for infants, toddlers, pre-school, full day before and after kindergarten, and a before and after school-age program. We are one of Renfrew County’s largest childcare facilities, hosting children ranging in age from infant to school age.

Wise Owl Day Care Centre is currently recruiting an Educator. This is a three-quarter permanent position that is available immediately.

The Educator assists in implementing the learning experience for children in the daycare. They work collaboratively with other staff members

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with children and their families
  • Ensure the environment for children facilitates their learning
  • Observe and learning initiatives
  • Use technology such as email, Zoom, the internet, Apple platform, etc.
  • Work indoors and outdoors
  • Work with children, including those with special needs, to ensure a positive daycare experience
  • Handle inquiries from parents and caregivers
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an organized daycare facility
  • Knowledge of how children develop skills and ways to encourage that development
  • Comfortable working in a busy daycare
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator certification is an asset
  • Criminal record and vulnerable screening checks
  • Qualification in First Aid and CP
  • A current record of immunization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Additional Information
The hourly rate for this position is $19.60 ($17.60 base pay + $2.00 wage enhancement grant) and Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) for Registered Early Childhood Educators.
