Position Type (One vacancy)

 Indefinite Full-time Contract to start: June 2026

Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week
Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:00 (Occasional Evenings will be required)
Salary
CA$32.52-CA$41.63 per hour

The Role(s)
Under the direction of the PMFRC Clinical Manager, these positions are responsible for the development,
implementation, and service delivery of support services/programs and crisis intervention to CAF families who are coping
with illness, injury, special needs, and/or mental health, emotional, and couple/family issues.
As Counsellor, you will conduct sessions and/or provide short-term support to individuals and families in crisis across multiple areas. This includes, but is not limited to, family violence, child abuse, critical incidents, suicidal ideation and depression, bereavement, marital issues, separation and divorce issues, special needs, severe behaviour disorders, family of-origin dysfunction, substance abuse, blended families, families coping with illness, injury, or death, and other military lifestyle issues.
You will coordinate and provide referrals and advocacy for clients requiring specialized and professional services within the community. You will support families in person or through other mediums, in one-on-one, couple,family, or group environments, as required.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychology, or a related field, AND
• Several years of experience providing direct services in social work, counselling, or a related field, AND
Certification / Licenses Required
• Registration and good standing with a local regulatory body (OCSWSSW or the College of Registered
Psychotherapists of Ontario).

Experience Requirements
• In crisis intervention and risk management.
• In emergency response to critical incidents.
• In data collection, record keeping, and retrieval techniques.
• In measuring and analyzing service performance.
• In networking with community resources.
• In working with a multidisciplinary team.
• In psychosocial counselling using evidence-based treatment approaches.
• In client assessment and case management.

Responsibilities
Psychosocial Services
• Offer short-term counselling, support, and intervention.
• For issues related to adjustment, workplace difficulties, relationships, couples, family, or crisis situations.
• Require the use of recognized evidence-based models and clinical approaches.
• Involve the development of customizable intervention plans that assist clients in establishing and achieving personal objectives.

Conditions of Employment
• Adhere to all PMFRC policies and procedures, including those related to privacy, code of conduct, and confidentiality
• Participate in and assist with special events as required
• Provide proof of any applicable registration with the respective regulatory body, where applicable
• Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check, obtain an Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance, and provide a
Vulnerable Sector Screening (current within six months)
• Hold a valid driver’s licence with access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel, including appropriate driver’s
insurance
• Ability to travel within the County of Renfrew
• Demonstrated understanding of Canadian Armed Forces communities, systems, and policies to effectively support
families in accessing appropriate services and resources
