Overview
The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking applications for one (1) temporary Labourer/Operator position for the Public Works Department to assist with winter maintenance and operations.
Description of Position:
- Performs winter maintenance, including snow clearing of sidewalks and application of sand/salt, snow removal and traffic control
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on Public Works equipment and vehicles (sidewalk tractors, pickup trucks, loaders, etc.)
- Responsible for equipment cleaning and general housekeeping of garage spaces
- Carries out assignments using a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, as well as power and hand tools

Qualifications:
- Class G driver’s license required, DZ license is an asset
- Ability to operate a variety of machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of road maintenance activities and safety procedures
- Ability to handle physical demands of the position
Rate of Pay & Hours of Work:
- $20.42 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
- Regular hours of work are 40 hours per week
- Overtime and unusual hours may be required to handle Public Works emergencies and poor weather conditions
