Overview

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and committed Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team. Under the supervision of the Director of Care or designate, the PSW is responsible for delivering high-quality, resident-centered personal care and support services in accordance with individual care plans.

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Provide personal care and promote comfort, safety, and dignity for residents.
  • Participate in activation programs to support residents’ overall well-being.
  • Attend care conferences to support care planning.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional conditions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care and treatments.
  • Assist with meals, laundry, tidying, and general environment upkeep.
  • Interact courteously with residents, families, and visitors.
  • Support the care team and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold residents’ rights and promote a respectful, inclusive environment.
  • Attend staff meetings and ongoing training/in-services.
  • Report all incidents and unsafe conditions immediately.

Work Schedule & Availability:

  • Positions available for casual and part-time roles, up to 30 hours per week
  • Positions available for days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education or equivalent.
  • Personal Care Aide Certificate required.
  • Previous experience in long-term care is an asset.
  • Demonstrated genuine interest in working with seniors.
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of the position.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs independently and up to 160 lbs with assistance.
  • Capable of pushing/pulling carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to respond promptly to resident needs, including visual and auditory cues.
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $18.76 per hour

Work Location: In person

Additional Compensation: Weekend shift premium, night shift premium, annual clothing allowance, in-lieu of benefits
