Personal Support Worker (PSW) – 1:1 Home Care

Position Overview

We are currently seeking two (2) compassionate and reliable Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide round-the-clock support for a client in a private home setting. This is a high-acuity case involving a quadriplegic adult who requires continuous assistance with daily care and mobility.

This role is ideal for PSWs who are confident working independently, experienced in complex care environments, and committed to providing respectful, client-centered support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 personal support in a private home environment
• Assist the client with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:
• Personal hygiene and grooming
• Bathing and toileting
• Dressing and repositioning
• Assist with transfers and mobility using appropriate equipment (e.g., lifts if required)
• Monitor the client’s comfort, safety, and overall well-being
• Support feeding and hydration as required
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition to the nursing or clinical team
• Assist with light housekeeping related to client care
• Maintain accurate daily documentation and care notes
• Provide detailed shift handovers to ensure continuity of care

Note: Full care plan details will be provided prior to the start of assignment.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited program
• Previous experience supporting high-acuity or complex care clients preferred
• Current CPR & First Aid certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Updated immunization record (including TB test)
• Experience using mobility aids and transfer equipment preferred
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a home care environment
• Reliable, compassionate, and professional

Schedule Structure

Flexibility for 8-hour shifts, 10-hour shifts or 12-hour shifts.
