Description:
The mission of Bernadette McCann House, an accredited organization serving Renfrew County, is to work for change that will end abuse by providing safety, support and education to all those who experience abuse. Our services include an emergency residential program for women and children, community outreach, support services for children, groups and workshops.

We are currently recruiting for an Outreach Caseworker to work in Pembroke, Killaloe and Eganville areas. This is a full-time, permanent position working 30 hours per week over four days.

The Outreach Caseworker provides direct service to women who have experienced abuse, intimate partner violence and domestic violence. This role provides education and support regarding domestic violence, safety planning, risk assessment and crisis intervention to clients. The Outreach Caseworker also facilitates groups and provides client advocacy.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a post-secondary program in social sciences or a related field
  • A thorough understanding of the issue of violence against women and the impact of children who witness violence
  • Experience in crisis intervention
  • Proven ability to work efficiently, independently and as a team member
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a car
